Dancecode is a dance school / performing arts academy in Milton Keynes and Cranfield.

Dancecode was founded in 2017 by Lauren Carpenter and Ben Sang. Dancecode is a dance school / performing arts academy in Milton Keynes and Cranfield. Classes are taught by experienced and professional teachers, teaching a variety of styles, including: street dance, musical theatre, jazz, ballet and more. Every year dancecode holds its big summer production, held at The Venue MK. Every end of year dancecode holds its award show ‘DCA’ (Dancecode Awards) to honor its students hard work and progress. Since opening dancecode has managed to successfully collaborate with many different companies in Milton Keynes and perform at exciting events, including: performing at the centre MK with ‘Motus’, Campbell Park for ‘Festival Of Giants’, various school fetes and an extra special performance in Disneyland Paris in 2019. As well as regular classes dancecode also provides special dance workshops taught by industry professionals, giving the students amazing experiences and opportunities. Dancecode are soon be entering into competitions and exams and are excited for the future ahead.




Lauren trained professionally at Tiffany Theatre College in Essex on a three year musical theatre course, and graduated in 2012. During her time at college, she performed at many events such as Move It, Paul Mitchell Hair Show at Excel, and the L'Oreal hair colour trophy awards, as well as taking her ISTD teaching qualifications in Modern Theatre. After graduating, she went on to perform at a prestigious Warner Leisure Hotel as part of the entertainment team, and was further promoted to dance captain where she took charge of rehearsals, choreography and direction of numbers. Since then, Lauren has grown a passion for sharing her knowledge of performing with children and adults, and is thrilled to be starting her lifelong dream of opening her own dance school alongside Ben.



Ben trained professionally at The Urdang Academy in London. Performing credits include many shows at the Gordon Craig Theatre in Stevenage, such as Footloose, Guys And Dolls, Disney’s Aladdin/The Jungle Book and Jack & The Beanstalk with Evolution Productions, just to name a few. He has also performed with The Urdang Academy at Move It (London Olympia), multiple pantomimes and UK tours with Enchanted Entertainment, Grayboy Entertainment (Australia), as well as Performer/Dancer at Disneyland Paris, Hong Kong Disneyland and special events with The Walt Disney Company (EMEA). Television credits include: Backing singer for various artists on ITV's Britain’s Got Talent, adverts for BBC and Activision, supporting artist for BBC Three shows plus promotional content for The Walt Disney Company. Directing credits include: Fame and Peter Pan (Stantonbury Theatre) for Rare Productions. Ben is also co-founder and Artistic Director for dancecode.



Jen has been teaching dance professionally for over 6 years. She trained at Northampton College in Musical Theatre after becoming Nationwide Champion in Rock‘n’Roll and Disco Freestyle 4 times, competing at the famous Blackpool Winter Gardens during her teenage years. She later represented the UK in a hip hop crew at the World IDO championships. Jen has appeared multiple times on TV (BBC Xchange, BBC news and ITV News) and in theatres around the country during her career, for dancing, modelling and presenting as well as choreographing major live events. Her passion for choreography and teaching both children and adults has taken pupils to compete at a National level and she is so excited to join Dancecode to provide more opportunities for students to fall in love with dance, just like she did!



L.I trained professionally in Performing Arts and media. Graduated with a BTEC National Diploma at Oakland’s college and BA Hons at Bedfordshire University. Alongside making music, visual editing, networking and travelling. Li Has had multiple appearances on TV and music videos and is still working alongside cheer and dance world champions. Whilst travelling and building a name for himself, Li has hit 1st place in every solo and duo entry across the UK! Being a dance coach over 6 years and finally building his own dance company, ‘4Relyi Dance Company’. Li has a record of 1st places, Grand Champions and dancers who represent team England at Worlds! Li is very versatile in skill and passionate about pushing forward and elevating his surroundings and looks forward to seeing the future of dancecode rise.



Sophie trained professionally in Musical Theatre at Performance Preparation Academy (PPA) and graduated in 2015. Her passion for performing arts began at a young age, being cast in her first professional job aged 6 in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat. Other credits include Tosca the Opera, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Footloose, Hairspray, A Chorus Line, Beauty and the Beast as well as performing regularly in Pantomime. Sophie is an experienced children’s entertainer hosting Princess parties and regularly performs as Princesses at charity events. Sophie has achieved qualifications in Ballet, Tap, Modern dance and Musical Theatre. Since graduating, Sophie teaches and choreographs for Premier Performing Arts (Milton Keynes) and is also the Head of Singing for Spotlight Musical Theatre School. Sophie is excited to be joining the dancecode team, working to inspire and encourage the children with her knowledge and experience, whilst developing their confidence and talent.
